Today’s painting for the #30paintingsin30days is inspired by a childhood in New Orleans. Each year we would put on costumes and make our way to a lovely home on St. Charles Avenue where we spent the day watching parades, eating well, and catching beads and doubloons.
A colorful day.
A police siren, a person falling under a float.
A comatose person in the median.
A friend aboard a float throwing great handfuls of beads.
Navigating around ladders holding children at float level.
Deciding on a worthy opponent for the flying doubloons.
The nuns? No! Super hero speed and strength in long black habits.
We all need a Guardian of some kind. Especially on a day like Mardi Gras.
